Saturday, 7:30 am- PADDLE ON THE ICHETUCKNEE RIVER:
We will paddle down the river that we usually tube down during the summer.
Bring your own boat or rent one. Only bottled water is allowed on the river,
Plan to snack or eat at the end. For boat rentals call Family Canoe and
Cabins at 386-497-2150 or 866-224-2064. Entrance fee to the park is $5.00
per person. We will meet at Hardee’s on Lane Ave. (just south of I-10) and

April 5th,
Wednesday 6:30 pm, MONTHLY MEETING:
We will meet at the Southeast Regional Public Library at Gate Parkway off of
J. Turner Butler Blvd. for a discussion of past events and highlights of
upcoming events. All members, new members and prospective members are
encouraged to attend. At 5:00 pm, prior to the meeting, some members meet at
Bono’s restaurant on Gate Parkway, for dinner. After the meeting, all are
encouraged to join us at a local Restaurant for socializing, coffee,
dessert, late dinner or a snack.
April 8th, Saturday, 11:00 am - JAZZ FESTIVAL AT METRO PARK:
Come join us for a day of great music, beautiful weather on the beautiful
St. Johns River. The music will last all day and into the night. Cost is
$5.00 to park and $5.00 admission to the park. Bring with you a chair or
blanket to sit on, poncho and jacket for when the sun goes down. Coolers/
food/drinks can not be brought in but food can be purchased there. Park in

Full moon, the beach and beautiful weather what could be better. Meet at
First Christian Church parking lot where Seagate (20th Street in North

Saturday, 8:00 am. - BIKE RIDE ON THE GAINESVILLE HAWTHORNE TRAIL:
Join us for a beautiful 32 mile round trip bike ride near Gainesville,
Florida. The terrain around the trail changes with each mile that you ride.
You can ride the whole trail or just as far as you like. The trail is paved
so any type bike will work. Bring your bike, lunch, water and snacks. We
will LEAVE from Hardee’s on Lane Ave. at 8:00. Come early if you want

April 22nd thru
23rd , Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am - CAMPING AND PADDLE CLINIC AT OCEAN
POND:
We will be camping at Ocean Pond, Saturday night. Ocean Pond, is a natural
1,760-acre lake located near Olustee in the Osceola Forest. Dinner will be
“bum stew” around the camp fire. Bring your camping gear, other meals and a
vegetable for the stew and appetizer to share. Meet Earline at the Hardee’s
on Lane Ave. at 9:00 am Sat. morning. Sunday morning at 9:30, there will be
a paddling clinic given by Earline V. If you are not camping with us wear
your bathing suit, bring a picnic lunch and change of clothes. And don’t
forget the sunscreen and bug spray. This will be a fun time and a great
learning experience. This is for all paddlers – canoeists and kayakers -
beginners (we all had to learn) or paddlers with experience. Bring a boat
if you have one and dry clothes, but having a boat is not required to do the
clinic. There will be several there for you to use. You don’t have to camp,
to do the clinic. Sunday afternoon we may just paddle around on the lake and
do a little exploring. Please call so we know how many to expect for

April 29th, Saturday, 8:00 am. – PAINT THE TOWN:
Sidetrackers will join other volunteer teams to paint a house in the north
Riverside area. The homes usually belong to older citizens who can’t afford
to have repairs and paint done on their homes. All participants get a free

May 5th, 6th and 7th - CAMPING AND TOUR OF CHARLESTON, S.C.:
We will be camping and touring Charleston with a trip to Middleton and or
Magnolia Gardens which is comparable to Callaway Gardens. It will be spring
time and the flowers should be in full bloom. We will do a lot of walking
that weekend. The venues will be the city itself (like Savannah, like
Charleston); Middleton Plantation and/or Magnolia Plantation (like Callaway
Gardens, like the plantations); the Charleston Aquarium. More research to
be done before trip time as to activity possibilities, we will not be just
sitting around. It will be a great weekend. Call now to reserve your camp

May 13th, Saturday, 8:00 pm, - MOONLIGHT PADDLE ON JULINGTON CREEK:
We will be paddling on Julington Creek in the moonlight. We’ll put our
boats in the water around 8:00 PM at Clark’s Fish Camp and Seafood
Restaurant, 12903 Hood Landing Road in Mandarin, 268-3474 and paddle for a
couple of hours. These are fun and different trips so plan on joining us.
Be sure to bring water, bug spray and a flashlight or headlamp. There are
no rentals so if you don’t have a boat let me know and I’ll try to make some
arrangements for you. I will also appreciate everyone that does have a

May 21st, Sunday, 2:00 pm, - HIKING AT FT. CAROLINE NATIONAL MONUMENT:
Come join us hiking the trails, visiting the visitor’s center and learn
about the history in the area and explore the fort. Wear comfortable shoes,

May 26th – 29th , Saturday thru Monday , CAMPING TRIP TO HIGH FALLS
STATE PARK:
We will be
spending Memorial Day weekend camping at beautiful High Falls State Park in
Georgia. The park offers 112 campsites with electrical and water hookups
(five comfort stations with hot showers are provided in the camping areas),
individual picnic sites and group shelters, fishing and boating in the
650-acre High Falls Lake (private boats are permitted and fishing boats,
canoes and pedal boats can be rented at the park office), a swimming pool
that is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and about five miles of hiking
and running trails. If you are interested in going, please call the leader,
ASAP. There will be a limited number of campsites reserved after that you
will be on your own to make reservations. It is a three night min. at $22.00
a night (2 tents per site). Plan on bringing your boat, if you have one,
