Bring your own bike or rent one for $10 for the day. Meet at Denny’s at the
Airport Rd exit from I-95. Bring snacks, water/drinks. After the ride, we’ll

Sunday, January 23 – Hike Pumpkin Creek Park, 1:00 p.m.
Meet at the Burger King restaurant at Merrill Road and the Southside
Connector at 1:00pm to caravan to the park. Please park your car in
the Publix parking lot next to, and close to, the Burger King. Wear comfortable

Sunday, January 30 – Hike Roosevelt Preserve in Arlington, 2:00 p.m.
Put on your walking shoes and join the group at the Hardee’s on Merrill Rd
to caravan to Roosevelt preserve. Take the Southside Extension/9A east onto
Merrill Rd. Hardee’s is the next traffic light. Bring snacks, water/drinks.

Camping Trip to Collier Seminole State Park
We’ll canoe/kayak, bike, and hike this beautiful park in South Florida near
the Everglades. You will need camping gear, bike/canoe/kayak, plus food for

Saturday, February 12 – Bike Ride, Dinner, and Boat Cruise, 1:00 p.m.
We will bike Jacksonville, Atlantic, and Neptune Beaches and have an early
dinner at Singleton’s (the best shrimp in the area!). We’ll top off the day
with a free moonlight cruise on the Sun-Cruz gambling boat from 7 to
midnight. Even if you don’t gamble, you’ll enjoy the fun and fellowship. You
will need a bike. Meet at the Lifeguard Building at the end of Beach Blvd.

Sunday, February 13 – Canoe/Kayak Blue Springs, 8:00 a.m.
Hopefully it will be cold enough to see the manatees wintering in the warm
springs with their calves. Bring your lunch, snacks, and a warm drink. After
the paddle, we can go for a hike in the park.. Bring your own canoe/kayak or
rent one there. We will leave from McDonald’s on Phillips Highway across
from the Avenues Mall at 8:00. Come earlier if you want to eat before we

Saturday, February 19 – Bike the Black Creek Trail on Fleming Island

Sunday, February 20 – Miniature Golf at Mandarin Mill, 2:00 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of playing miniature golf. Form your teams now for
an all-out competition or show up and be a ringer. Bring water/drinks. Meet
at the Mandarin Mill parking lot, 10910 San Jose Blvd. across from Walmart,

Saturday, February 26 – Swim with the Manatees
We need at least 10 people to register by February 15th for
this fascinating trip to see the manatees. Rooms will be reserved for
you at the Days Inn in Crystal River at a cost of $45 per night.
Arrive in Crystal Springs at your own time on Friday and check into your
pre-assigned room. Request an early wake-up call so that you will be
at the boat dock by 7am on Saturday morning. The cost for the boat is
$47per person without regard to whether you plan to swim or not.

Wednesday, March 2 – Monthly Meeting At Regency Library, 7 p.m.
Friday to Sunday, March 4-6 – Strawberry Festival Camp-out
We will attend one of the best food festivals in Florida – the Strawberry
Festival in Plant City. There is an Aaron Tippin concert Saturday night that
will cost $20. The rest of us will make our own music. Bring your bike and
hiking shoes so we can check out the area. We will meet at McDonald’s across
from the Dog Track in Orange Park on Highway 17. Meeting time to be

Saturday, March 5 – Walk the River Run, 7:00 a.m.
Join a Sidetrackers contingent to walk the River Run route. The entry fee is
$25. Gather at the starting point. Call Herb T. 880-5926, or Vicki

Saturday, March 12 – Kayak Juniper Springs
Kayak or canoe this beautiful springs in Ocala National Park. Rental boats
are available. Bring snacks, water/drinks, and lunch. Meet at the McDonald’s
across from the dog track in Orange Park on Highway 17. Call Leaders Vicki

you would like to camp the weekend at Juniper Springs.
Wednesday through Friday, March 16 – 18 – St. Patrick’s Day Parade and
Camp-out
Camp at Skidaway Island State Park, east of Savannah, GA. Drive six miles to
downtown Savannah for the parade on Thursday. Return after dinner to camp.
Since Savannah is only two hours from Jacksonville, feel free to make this a
day trip by joining the group in Savannah for the parade and returning to
Jacksonville that night. Leave from Denny’s at the Airport Rd. exit off
I-95. Make arrangements with Leader John G. 910-1469.
Saturday, March 19 – River Clean-up, 8:00 a.m.
We will participate in the St. John’s River Clean-up. You will need to have
a boat – canoe is preferable – to go out onto the river. Shore clean-up is
also available. Bring water/drinks. A free lunch is served after the
activity. Our site is yet to be determined. Call Leader Judy M.

Sunday, March 20 – Bike Atlantic Beach, 2:00 p.m.
Meet at the eastern end of Atlantic Blvd near Sea Turtle Hotel to ride north
on paved roads. You will encounter some light traffic. Bring snacks,
water/drinks – and bike, of course. Call Leader John T. 910-9417 to
register.
Friday through Sunday, March 25-27 – Tomoka State Park Camping Trip
We will camp at the group campsite Friday and Saturday nights. For paddling,
bring your own boat or you can rent a canoe there. We will also hike at
Bulow Creek State Park. Cost is $3 per person per night. Bring water/drinks,
camp gear and camp meals. Call Leader Diane J. 821-6707, to register
and arrange Friday evening meeting time.
Friday through Sunday, April 1-3 – Cooper River 7K Walk and Camping
trip
We will camp in the suburbs of Charleston, SC on John’s Island. Walk 7 K
from Mt. Pleasant, SC through downtown Charleston. Accompany 10,000 other
walkers and see tulips and azaleas blooming as we stroll down Meeting Street
to the Straw Market. The estimated total cost is about $100. You will need
camping gear. Meet at Denny’s at the Airport Rd exit off I-95. Call John
G. 910-1469, to register and arrange meeting time.
