We had a wonderful time at Standing Indian State Park near Franklin NC.  The weather couldn't have been more beautiful.  It would rain a little during the night and the days were rain-free.  But thank goodness it didn't rain the night before we left so we had dry tents to pack.  =;^)  On Friday, a large group went hiking (ended up about 10 miles up and down) and a smaller group hiked about 1 1/2 hours out then returned a different way and had to wade in the river. Hobo stew was ready for the 10 mile hikers when they returned to the campsite.  Saturday, many went their own ways, but when we returned, we had another group dinner.  It was very good, cooked over the fire.  Sunday we hiked to the Falls (Kim went on the other side of the river and had a bit of a problem returning) and to the top of Alexander Mountain.  We treated ourselves to dinner out, came back to the campsite, and had marshmallows over the fire.  Monday we broke camp and most were gone by 9 AM.  Thanks to Judy M for leading a great fall trip.  Earline
