Membership in our club is open to all, however there is a requirement for prospective new members to attend a minimum of two club outings or activities before you may submit an application.  This became necessary, starting with the 2003 membership year, due to these facts:

• Our annual membership dues are extremely low -- only $15 for an entire year, and...

• We have had a large number of visitors and guests attend Sidetrackers meetings for their first time and immediately join the club by submitting an application with the annual dues paid in full.  Many of these members were "single visit" members whom we never saw or heard from again.  This artificially inflated our membership roster and...

• Our club is covered by an insurance policy for a specific number of members.  In 2003 we reached our insured membership limit prematurely due mostly to the fact that we had many non-participating "single visit" members join our club.  Because we can only make changes to our insurance policy once a year when the policy is renewed, this was a serious problem for our club.  Therefore we took a few reasonable steps to address and correct this problem.

We are currently accepting applications for membership.  Prospective members are kindly requested to attend at least two club outings or activities before submitting an application.  Membership renewals are not required to follow this rule, and are not required to submit a new application or liability waiver form.  This does not apply if a member fails to submit their renewal prior to the renewal expiration date.  The renewal due date is determined and announced annually by the Club Membership Chair.  We appreciate your understanding, and we welcome your participation in our fine club!

A paid membership in Sidetrackers helps defray the cost of your monthly activities newsletter, this web site, and other minor operating expenses.  We are very happy that we can offer a high-quality outdoor activities club for singles for a very low annual cost.
